Archaeology Notes

NJ80SW 4 c. 80 01.

There are circular stone structures, supposedly ancient, upon the heights above Anguston.

A Jervise 1875

No traces of circular stone structures were seen on the heights above Nether Anguston. There has been much quarrying, both deep and surface, within the area.

Visited by OS (WDJ) 28 November 1961.

Nothing is visible of the 'circular stone structures' noted by Jervise above 'Anguston'. The ground today has either been given over to arable cultivation and improved pasture, or else it has been heavily disturbed by quarrying (NJ80SW 42).

Visited by RCAHMS (JRS, ATW), 16 February 1997.
