'Garniston' stood on the right bank of a stream and was the seat of the chief of the Clan Dalgarno.

J B Pratt 1870.

Gairniston Castle. Very little is known about it and there is now no trace of it to be found; but the small park in which it is situated is considered to have been the Castle garden.

Name Book 1870.

No further information.
