UDNY. Centred on the secret jewel of Udny Green, Monymusk-like in its atmosphere but translated to the very edge of Buchan and set atop a ridge sloping gently to the south. The fine tall beeches fringing the fields of the surrounding Udny estate give a welcome sense of enclosure and a hint of what could be achieved in the vast open acres to the north. The village is grouped around an asymmetrical village green dominated by the kirk and war memorial, with intriguing views to the truncated cone of the morthouse.
