Activities

Field Visit (12 June 2010)

This farmstead is generally as previously described. The cottage measures 12.5m from E to W by 5.2m transversely over lime-mortared stone walls which stand to wall-head and gable height, except on the S, where the wall has collapsed. There is a porched central doorway and three windows (one of them blocked) in the N side and a window in the W gable. There is a fireplace in both ends.

A two-compartment outshot, which is narrower and of lower height than the cottage, is attached to the E gable of dwelling. Both compartments have a doorway on the N, and remnants of a turf roof can be seen on the respective wall-heads.
