Field Visit (13 June 2010)

This kale yard is situated in rough pasture close to the N shore of the W end of the Loch of Grunnavoe. Rhomboidal on plan, it measures up to 24m from WNW to ESE by 15m transversely over a drystone rubble wall standing up to 1.2m in height. The soil level in the interior is appreciably higher (0.5m) than that outside. The structure referred to in the previous report is described elsewhere (see HU24NE 119).
