One unroofed building and three unroofed structures are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Orkney & Shetland (Shetland) 1882, sheet xlvi). Two unroofed buildings are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1973).

Information from RCAHMS (SAH) 18 May 2001.

Activities

Field Visit (9 June 2010)

Previously identified as an unroofed building, this planticrub, which stands in moorland 330m NW of Hillcrest, measures about 5m square over a drystone rubble wall standing 1.3m in height. The footings of what may be an earlier, robbed, planticrub, measuring about 4.5m square, lie immediately ENE. The three other unroofed structures previously referred to, the locations of which were not specified, are probably also planticrubs and are described elsewhere.

Visited by RCAHMS (JRS, ARG) 9 June 2010.
