OS 6"map, Orkney, 2nd ed., (1903).

'A number of graves are said to have been discovered on the west side of the road near Stove, Quoyloo, but in no case was there any trace of a cairn or mound above them'.

RCAHMS 1946.

No further information.

Visited by OS(RL) 23 May 1967.

'The Orcadian' in 1896 describes the discovery of a cist with bones and three skulls at Quarry-banks (Quarrybanks) in the Scarwell area.

No O.N.B. ref. [Object Name Book] even for the 1843 find. Possibly this was the

first reported at the time the 1897 discovery was recorded.
