A township comprising fourteen unroofed buildings, two partially roofed buildings, sixty-six roofed buildings, some enclosures and a head-dyke is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Orkney & Shetland (Shetland) 1882, sheet lix). The main focus of the township is at the above NGR, but there are three outlying settlements at Okraquoy (HU 438 316), Brenay (HU 4353 3264) and Dykes of Fladdabister (HU 4325 3277).
Fourteen unroofed buildings, thirty-five roofed buildings, their associated enclosures and the head-dyke are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1973).

HU 4250 3350 - HU 4340 2550 A walkover survey in advance of refurbishment to the 11Kv hydro-electric line was undertaken in 1999. The following sites were identified:
HU 4301 3255 Stone and turf meandering hill dyke.
HU 4303 3226 Stone and turf hill dyke.
HU 4301 3228 Foundations of 4 turfed-over planticrubs and lozenge-shaped enclosure.
HU 4308 3205 Stone and turf meandering hill dyke.
HU 4323 3188 Stone and turf meandering hill dyke.
HU 4342 3155 Cultivation remains.
HU 4363 3150 Ruin and foundations of 3 planticrubs.
HU 4385 3142 Planticrub with 2 smaller annexes.
HU 4390 3145 Remians of stone and turf curving field dyke.
