Publication Account (2008)

The striking viaduct built in 1847 at Salterland to carry this line over the Levern survives today (fig 17). Built of large rusticated ashlar blocks, it has three arches, the two nearest the west being wide and skewed and the third (east) arch, which crosses over a minor roadway, is a simple round arch with a brick soffit.

Information from The Scottish Burgh Survey, Historic Barrhead: Archaeology and Development’, (2008).
