(NJ 7046 1849) Bronze Battle Axe found AD 1864 (NAT)

OS 6" map, (1959)

A bronze battle-axe measuring 5" x 3" (127 x 76mm) was turned up during ploughing in a field near Westerton farmhouse in 1864. The finder, James Grant, intended to present it to Col Leslie of Fetternear.

Name Book 1867; Information from J Grant, Westerton.

The present whereabouts of this bronze axe is not known.
