Together with Rubislaw (NJ90NW 124), the most important granite quarries in Aberdeenshire, Paradise Hill (NJ71NW 29), Whitestones (NJ71SE 24), Tom's Forest and Leschangie (NJ71SW 15) employed 300 men in the 1860's.
