NO32NE 158 3916 2987

Demolished c.1980. This was a large works for weaving and finishing with tall blocks on a steeply sloping site. In 1797, David Scott bought a warping mill. In the 1840s-50s there were three or four handloom sheds. Power looms were installed around 1860. There were 60 power looms by 1864 and the site was enlarged 1871 with a new boiler house and a two-storey front addition. By 1872, there were four power loom sheds and a three-storey front. In 1882 a four storey building was added in front of the 1872 storey bulding on the slope. Between 1886 and 1910 the following were added: large power loom factory, tall cloth warehouse at Hawkhill (iron-framed), four power loom sheds between the warehouses, a three-storey iron-framed power loom factory and further warehousing provision. The welfare hall was built in 1929.
