This lock, which was 69 feet in length, 12 feet 6 inches in width and had a fall of 10 feet, was part of a flight of eleven locks taking the canal down to Port Downie (NS88SE 171) on the Forth and Clyde Canal (NS88SE 110.00). It was closed and infilled in 1933.

This lock is visible on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Stirlingshire 1864, sheet xxx) and on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Stirlingshire 1899, sheet xxx NW). It leads into the S end of Port Downie Basin (NS88SE 171).
