This demolished lock was supplied with a side-pond (NS87NE 103.07).
RCAHMS 1963.
This lock, which was 69 feet in length, 12 feet 6 inches in width and had a fall of 10 feet, was part of a flight of eleven locks taking the canal down to Port Downie (NS88SE 171) on the Forth and Clyde Canal (NS88SE 110.00). Ths lock, which was closed and infilled in 1933, was supplied with water by a side reservoir (NS87NE 103.07).
