Place Mill, 1832. Just above the burn, a plain but satisfying two-storey L-plan with kiln having prominent Aberdeenshire vent (hexagonal with revolving cap) and neat egg-cup finials to gables; machinery removed.

(Location cited as NJ 627 430 and name as Place Mill). Built 1832. A pleasing little 2-storey rubble building on an L plan with a kiln with an Aberdeenshire-type vent in the angle of the L. Now gutted, and the mid-breast wheel, about 3ft (0.9m) wide by 12ft (3.66m) diameter removed. Used as a grain store.
J R Hume 1977.
