Archaeology Notes

NJ64SW 11 6105 4198.

The former existence of a "stone circle" at approximately NJ 6105 4198 described as "a low circular bank with boulders in it" was indicated by Mrs Alexander of Hawkhall, Frendraught. The area has been heavily ploughed and afforested and although a few large boulders lie around nothing definite could be found. Her description, however, best suits a hut-circle.

Visited by OS (ISS) 9 January 1973.
