Accessing Scotland's Past Project

The 1st edition of the Ordnance Survey 6-inch map, published in the 1860s, shows a farmstead south of the Blackadder Water, approximately 650m north of Ewartlaw farmsteading.

Called Henless, the farmstead was depicted as comprising three unroofed buildings. No buildings are shown on the 1982 edition of the 1:10 000 scale map, indicating that they no longer form prominent features in the landscape.
