Uig Lodge, 1876 Shooting lodge built on one of Sir James Matheson's eight sporting properties, comprising several gabled blocks grouped round an Italianate tower on an exposed plateau. The lodge turns its back on the glorious Uig Sands to survey its hunting grounds: the billowing mountain chain that stretches south to the deer forest of North Harris. Behind the keeper's cottage, the best preserved of the island's three unusual octagonal kennels.
