Measured Survey
NM 8416 5278 A two-storey boathouse stands beside a stone jetty now extended and capped with concrete, just beyond the shallows at the head of the loch. It is part of the estate buildings of Kingairloch House, and probably dates to the first half of the 19th century. The upper floor is supported on iron pillars, which would have limited the width of the boat stored below to about 8 x 2m. Old photographs show that the boathouse was once provided with doors designed to keep out floating debris. The upper floor, entered from the inland side, consists of one large room, panelled with tongue-and-groove boarding. Later extensions (one still surviving, one indicated by the raggle of a lean-to roof) have been added to the seaward side.
