(NJ 5068 4768) Daugh on site of (NAT)

Castle of Daugh (NR)

OS 6" map, Aberdeenshire, 2nd ed., (1902)

The Manor house of Daach stood where the farm houses now stand.

J Pirie 1906.

The Castle of the Daach: No vestige of the building now remains, but the tenant points out the sites of the garden and the fish-pond. Access to the castle was probably from the south.

Foundations of a building, said to be a chapel are visible.

J A Cameron 1849.

No traces of either the castle, chapel, garden or fishpond were found. Daugh farm is now a ruin.

Visited by OS (NKB) 4 February 1964.
