(NJ 5187 3603) Site of Stone Circle (NR) Human Remains found.

OS 6" map, Aberdeenshire, 2nd ed., (1902)

About 1810, four large stones, said to have been the remains of a circle, were removed by the farmer from an arable field on the side of the Hill of Bucharn.

They formed the corners of a square and were about 40 links apart. Bones were found whilst digging at the foot of them.

Name Book 1871.

No evidence of a stone circle was found at the site indicated.

Visited by OS (EGC) 15 September 1961.
