Archaeology Notes

HY40NE 27.04 48503 08044

Three earth banked dispersal bays are situated on the E side of the airfield, one within the airfield perimeter track and two outside. The bay within the perimeter has been heavily eroded, but the two remaining have air-raid shelters built into the rear of the banking.

The three dispersal bays are visible on RAF vertical air photogrpahs (LEU/UK2, 7117-7121, flown 16 April 1948) with a group of four huts.

Visited by RCAHMS (DE), August 2000.
