Archaeology Notes

HY40NE 27.03 48778 08448

The concrete bases for four Mainhill or S type aircraft hangars are situated at the NW corner of the airfield beyond the perimeter track. The four hangars are visible on RAF vertcial air photogrpahs (LEU/UK2, 7117-7121, flown 16 April 1948) with a small group of five huts.
