Activities

Field Visit (2010)

This is one of three dams associated with Loch Dubh which provides storage and flow regulation for the powerhouse. This is the furthest upstream of the dams and provides flow regulation and storage capacity for the scheme as a whole. The dam is of concrete gravity type with a flared downstream profile and fixed spillways. The base of the spillway is concrete lined to minimise erosion. This is a small scale item of predominantly standard typology. PL Payne, 1988, 5; E Wood, 2002, 38; J Miller, 2002.
