Ratagan House, 18th century core Traditional farmhouse in which James Hogg stayed as the guest of sheep farmer Donald Macleod in 1803. It acquired its villa-ish air as the result of a 19th century remodelling - the neat doorcase and shallow-pitched projecting eaves are probably later than they appear.
