Stormy Hill Hill House, early 19th century, one of the 'neat and well-constructed houses' praised by Lord Teignmouth, c.1827. Further up, in the shadow of 1940s council housing, Mackenzie's Cottage is an early-mid-19th century survival of a former thatched dwelling built for cottars employed on the home farm; recently restored.
