Carnbooth House, 80 Busby Road, 1900, Alexander Cullen

Impressive large Renaissance house with 17th-century Scots details, white harl and red ashlar dressings. Good interiors. Cullen's vast 1890 Ross House for Col Robertson Aikman, near Hamilton, was also designed in traditional Scots Renaissance style, as was Heathery Park, Wishaw. Carnbooth is currently a residential school for the blind and deaf.
