Proposed parish church. A plan was submitted to the presbytery but Mr Duncan Shaw feels that at 850 pounds it is rather expensive. He asks Messrs. Hunter, Campbell and Co.WS to obtain a plan of a 'substantial plain church'. Letter, 1837

GD/201/3/91

Proposed church to be built at Howmore. Two plans with specification have been submitted to the presbytery and that of Mr Archibald Scott, Architect in Edinburgh, chosen. Some alterations to the specifications are listed. Craftsmens estimates amount to 710 pounds and 10 shillings. Mason: Kenneth MacKenzie, Joiner: George Peddie, 1837
