St. Peter's Church (RC), 1868

Long, harled church with slender lancets and a cobweb window in its west gable, originally incorporating priest's house under the same roof. Stone font from the medieval chapel of St. Coineach, which stood at Auratot near Lochboisdale. The presbytery, 1907, is tucked into the south-east side to form an L-plan, now somewhat marred by modern additions. School, Alexander Ross, 1876. One of a clutch of island schools based on Ross's standard design, also still to be seen at Eochar, Stoneybridge and Eriskay.

Taken from "Western Seaboard: An Illustrated Architectural Guide", by Mary Miers, 2008. Published by the Rutland Press http://www.rias.org.uk
