Accessing Scotland's Past Project

Dating from 1883, this church replaced an earlier church on this site which was built in 1813. Mackenzie and Matthews, an Aberdeen firm of architects, designed the new church in Gothic style and in rough-faced pink granite. A bellcote, spire and wrought-iron weather vane crowns the western end of the church.

Most of the internal fittings have been removed as the building is virtually disused but a wooden pulpit, decoratively carved, still stands beneath the circular window at the eastern end. At the western end there is a first-floor gallery.
