(NJ 4947 1710) Bronze Spearhead found AD. 1863 (NAT)

OS 6" map, Aberdeenshire, 2nd ed., (1902)

'Thus, spearhead of steel, length 5 1/2" (140mm) from the point, found by Mr A Hunter, Junr., of the Mains of Brux in 1863 whilst digging material for repairing a cart road' ( ? a MD.arrowhead; a deletion reads 'stackyard a little under the earth')

Name Book 1867.

No further information.

Visited by OS (A A) 11 September 1968.

(Classification amended to possible bronze spearhead). The present whereabouts of what may have been a spearhead, which was found in 1863, is not known.
