At the foot of Culblean Hill is a large oval cairn (NJ 4280 0128), a piece of wall running northward from near it, and a hut-circle still farther north. All have been extensively robbed for building material.
A Ogston 1931.
The alleged cairn, walling and hut circle are natural features. The 'cairn' is a rock-strewn mound, the 'walling' is a fortuitous arrangement of boulders, and the 'hut circle' is a natural irregular depression. Not antiquities.
Visited by OS (N K B) 23 April 1967.
These features do not appear on any of Ogston's published plans, and their locations can thus only be inferred. They are probably to be located at NJ c. 426 010, which location is now under dense woodland.
Visited by S Carter and M Dalland (Headland Archaeology Ltd.), 1996.
