Rectangular ashlar gothic with 85' north tower; horseshoe-plan gallery original pulpit, otherwise re-furnished. Basement in fall of grounding containing former manse. 1828. Howard tomb, marble, 1872.

Erected by Denniston Buchanan and Co. (then owners of Stanley Mills) cost £3,000. Minister's stipend paid by mill. Chapel of Ease 1870, Parish quod sacra 1877. (Historic Environment Scotland List Entry)
