Archaeology Notes

NJ35NW 4 3058 5623.

(NJ 306 563) A barrel-shaped glass bead, sea-green with a buff whorl decoration was found by F Teush, Dykeside, while cultivating his rasps midway between the B 9103 and the railway on the 250' contour. The bead which is in Elgin Museum is believed to have been made in NE Scotland about 100-300 AD

I Keillar 1970.

This bead was found at NJ 3058 5623. Mr Teush believes that it was probably brought from elsewhere, as it was found near modern refuse from the house of Dykeside, which included clay marbles.
