NJ34SW 6 c. 32 40.

A MBA Class III flanged axe from Dufftown (NJ 32 40) was purchased for National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland [NMAS] in 1886. (DC 56)

J M Coles 1966; Proc Soc Antiq Scot 1887.

(Flanged axe of Lissett type). Single find. Flanged axe, rough, black and green, butt incomplete, flanges hammered where joining blade, blade cracked, signs of filing in flanges (?). hammered cutting edge, slope stop; length 115mm, butt 28mm, cutting edge 45mm, weight 270 gms. NMAS (DC 56).
