World War One Audit of Surviving Remains (24 October 2013)

In 1914 the hall was the HQ of a number of units and base for some of their constituent companies and squadrons: HQ and "A" to "H" Companies, 6th battalion, Highland Light Infantry; No. 4 Company Lowland Divisional Transport and Supply Column, Army Service Company; HQ and "A" and "B" Sections, Lowland Mounted Field Ambulances; HQ and "A" to "C" Sections, 1st and 2nd Lowland Divisional Field Ambulances; 3rd and 4th General Hospitals, RAMC.

Now converted to housing (see NS56NE 4834-43).

Project (March 2013 - September 2013)

A project to characterise the quantity and quality of the Scottish resource of known surviving remains of the First World War. Carried out in partnership between Historic Scotland and RCAHMS.
