This junction station was opened (as Bellahouston Station) by the Glasgow and Paisley Joint Rly on 6 January 1843. It was closed in 1845 by the Glasgow, Paisley, Kilmarnock and Ayr Rly, being reopened (as Ibrox Station) by the same company on 1 March 1871. It closed to regular passenger traffic on 6 February 1967.
