Activities

Archaeological Evaluation (1 March 2023)

NN 91246 62802 The evaluation revealed a sandstone structure and brick wall which likely relate to late 19th century structures present on site in as part of Killiecrankie railway station and goods yard. The remainder of the central area of the site had been heavily impacted by modern demolition and contained an extensive deposit of large limestone rock quarried infill. The eastern portion of the site was not investigated due to the presence of live services and dense vegetation.

A limited metal detecting survey was also carried out in pocketed areas towards the south but revealed modern detritus only.
