Site Management (7 April 1999)

Single-storey, 3-bay Arts and Crafts Cottage, built on rising ground. Harled with Turriff sandstone ashlar margins, stop-chamfered reveals, timber mullions to bipartites. E ELEVATION: boarded door to centre to advanced, broad gabled bay, with strip fanlight and decorative cast-iron hinges. Bipartites flanking, with gables breaking eaves above. Modern lean-to addition to S. Casement windows with diamond-pane glazing. Bracketed eaves, barge boards to gables with trefoil motif. Jerkin-headed roof to end gables with red fish-scale tiles, supported by wooden brackets on corbels. Decorative ridge tiles and ball finials to gables and ridge.

Similar in style to Riverside Cottages nearby; also Carnousie Estate Cottages. Sutherland Estates Cottages have similarly bracketed eaves; timber brackets carried on corbels (Historic Scotland)
