Archaeology Notes

NT96SE 16 NT 95675 60067

This settlement has been recorded as cropmarks on oblique aerial photography (RCAHMSAP 1994, 1996, 2000) lying on the E flank of Chester Hill about 200m SW of Catch-a-Penny. It is roughly circular on plan, measuring about 40m in diameter within a ditch about 5m wide, and there are at least two round houses in the interior. The settlement is bisected by a modern field boundary.
