Elizabethan country house with tower, for stockbroker Joseph Turner. Main rooms, including oak-beamed open hall leading to majestic stair, located beside kitchen on ground floor. Dramatic south view. Converted to old people's home, 1950s. Original fine interiors, including good carved timber or marble chimneypieces, some Jacobean details, others Glasgow Style; stained glass, Henry J Payne and Mary Newill.
