Bridge of Sheriffmills [NAT]

OS 1:10,000 map, 1984.

(Location cited as NJ 202 629 and name as Sheriffmill Bridge). Built 1803 and partly rebuilt 1829. A two-span bridge with dressed-stone arch rings and rubble spandrels; the arches are segmental and the cutwaters triangular.

J R Hume 1977.

This bridge carries the former line of West Road (now superseded by the A96 (T) public road) over the River Lossie in the western outskirts of Elgin. The river here forms the boundary between the parishes of Elgin (to the SE) and Spynie (to the NW).

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 27 October 1997.
