An aerial transcription was produced from oblique aerial photographs. Information from Historic Environment Scotland (BM) 31 March 2017.
Aerial Photographic Interpretation (7 May 2013)
An enclosure, a ring ditch (probably a barrow) and pit circle have been recorded as cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs (RCAHMSAP 1996) some 175m SW of Eckford Mill. The enclosure is circular on plan and measures about 30m in diameter within a ditch up to 2m across. There are two breaks in the line of the enclosure ditch on the SE and NW, which may be entrances. Set centrally within the enclosure there is a circular ring ditch, probably the remains of a barrow, and the pit circle. The barrow measures about 10m in diameter within a ditch 3m across, and the pit circle, which may represent the remains of a ceremonial timber circle, lies within its interior. There is a scatter of pits around the enclosure.
