NS 9340 6148. Eastfield Coal Pit (No.3): Common coal of a superior kind is taken from this pit: it is worked by a steam engine of 10 horse power and the depth of shaft is 20 fathoms. It is leased and worked by the Coltness Iron Company and is the proeprty of John Storry Esq., Burnhead.
NS 9327 6155. Eastfield Iron Mine (No.4): This is a very large mine, being worked by three engines, two used for the pumps (80 horse power and 50 horse power) and one for withdrawing the mineral and refuse (18 horse power), the depth of shaft being 90 fathoms and the thickness of seam 13 inches. Very fine ironstone is taken from this mine: it is leased and worked by the Coltness Iron Company and the property of John Storry Esq., of Burnehad.
