Spynie was a village on the side of the Loch of Spynie which was erected into a Burgh of Barony in 1451 and into a Burgh of regality in 1452. Nothing remains of it except the market cross. (NJ26NW 9 and NJ26NW 12 )

G A Cooke 1810.

No further information was found regarding this village during field investigation.
