One of the glass kilns of the monks of Pluscarden Priory (NJ15NW 6) existed near the mouth of the Shogle, (ISSFC 1888) Shoggle (PSAS 1863) or Shougle (H B Mackintosh 1924) Burn (Shougle NJ 211 552). Specimens of glass-encrusted stone from the site, which is known as 'the Old Glass Kiln' were donated to NMAS by Rev. George Gordon, Birnie, In 1860, and other specimens were in Elgin Museum in 1881.

No trace and no local information. The specimens are still in Elgin Museum, together with part of a glass-encrusted crucible.
