Architect: Campbell Douglas & Sellars 1873 (destroyed).

NMRS newpaper cutting - missing at time of upgrade 19.10.2000

The church is shown as triangular shape site in plan on the various editions of the OS 25-inch maps fronting on to the Old Dumbarton Road and Argyle Street..

It is first depicted on the OS historical maps by the 1896 edition (2nd edition of the OS 25-inch map (Lanarkshire, 1896), and annotated as 'Free Church'. By the date of the Revision edition (ibid) of 1913 the annotation has altered to 'U.F.Church' and by the 1932-34 Provisional edition to 'Church'.
