Archaeology Notes

NJ52NE 91 5993 2543

The pre-improvement village of Old Leslie is depicted on an estate map of 1758 held by the National Archives of Scotland. It comprises two rows of houses and yards on either side of a street aligned roughly from N to S and there was a croft at the N end of the E row. The site of this croft is now known as Old Leslie Croft (NJ52NE 173). The present farmsteading occupies the south end of the east row.
