In 1906, the feature comprised pieces of stone 3 feet in length, either portions of some of the monoliths, or, more likely, part of a circular setting of biggish stones set on edge, which enclosed a well-defined mound, 36 feet in diameter and 3 feet high. Two or three of the great stones of the circle were said to be standing 70 years previously.
Coles identifies this with "Leachell Beandich", a stone circle in Aberlour Parish demolished before 1692. (This identification seems no more than probable).

The turf-covered remains of a cairn, measuring 11.5m in diameter and 0.8m high, situated in a prominent position in a pasture field at about 650ft OD. Its perimeter is defined by a kerb of stones, set edgewise, which are visible for most of its circumference. No finds are known to have been made, and there is no local knowledge of the name.
Re-surveyed at 1/2500.
