(NJ 1096 6240) Earnside Castle (NR) (Site of)

OS 6"map, Morayshire, 2nd ed., (1906)

Nothing is known of Ernside Castle except that it was built by the Cumyns of Altyr about 1450.

H B Mackintosh 1924.

No trace remains of this castle. The site is now partially covered by huts and lumber.

Visited by OS (W D J) 18 September 1963.
